Many of my freelance writing clients speak and write English as a second language. Many wish they could speak it better with an American accent and write more fluently. I am now offering private lessons in Street Smart English with an American accent. If you take my course, you will learn:
- To speak faster and better with an American accent
- To be able to translate and understand books and documents in English
- To understand the spoken language
- To understand the basics of English grammar
- To improve your vocabulary
My classes are expensive- and I apologize for that in advance.
Classes are $150 USD an hour and $75 USD for a half an hour. We will work on Skype audio and chat. Payment will be in advance by Paypal. It is recommended you have at least one lesson a week.
There will be a lot of homework- things you need to do on your own, following the system I use.
The system is based on the model developed by Sir Richard Burton- not the great English actor, but the great English explorer and swordsman. Burton was reputed to have learned something like 100 languages, many not spoken anywhere in the rest of the world.
His theory of language was based on learning a great deal of vocabulary, basic rules of grammar and a great deal of translation. I combine this method with also a lot of emphasis on learning how to speak with an American accent.
They are for mainly for entrepreneurs who want to speak English with an American accent. Australian and English actors and singers who want to speak with an American accent will also profit from this work.
What are my credentials?
I basically studied dialects and speech as part of my work for my Communications Major in the University of Tulsa- but later on deployed this in working with actors in several radio programs that I produced and in helping train several people to work as talk show hosts. I found, over the last few years, that many of my freelance writing clients need to improve their speaking as well as writing skills and would like to learn to speak with an American accent.
